A world without hunger.
To end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.
In 2013, Stop Hunger Now was invited to organize the first meal packaging event in Bangalore, packaging 70,000 meals with local corporate partners. This was the first step towards creating a sustained effort in India towards ending hunger. Throughout 2014, Stop Hunger Now packaged more than 280,000 meals with partners in Bangalore. These meal packaging events led to the opportunity to establish a permanent program base to mobilise support and create champions for active engagement. Stop Hunger Now India was registered as a Charitable Trust in October 2014 and officially launched the organisation in March 2015.
Stop Hunger Now India collaborates with existing development efforts in vulnerable communities by investing the meals our volunteers package in to programs such as school feeding programs, orphanages, nurseries and medical clinics. Stop Hunger Now India particularly focuses on school feeding programs because providing a hot meal during school gives parents an incentive to send their children to school. Through receiving an education, children learn valuable skills, increase their future earnings and are more prepared to participate in India’s growing economy. The helps to break the cycle of poverty and also leverages change in many other issues including maternal health, childhood mortality, gender equality and combating HIV/AIDS. Stop Hunger Now India is a private non-profit, non-governmental charitable trust organized under the laws of India.
Stop Hunger Now India is an Affiliate of Stop Hunger Now Inc., established in the United States of America in 1998 by Dr. Ray Buchanan. Stop Hunger Now is an international nonprofit organization with a vision of a world without hunger that has delivered over 290,000,000 meals to nonprofit-partners throughout the world.
